  • Nick

    Tutor
    University of Oxford - Engineering

Hi everyone, my name is Nick and I’m currently studying for a MEng in Engineering Science at Oxford University. I specialise in tutoring for Oxbridge Engineering admissions, but I also teach a variety of subjects at both GCSE and A-Level. I was fortunate to receive an excellent education, and now I hope to share some of the insights I received with the pupils of the OTC, helping you to maximise your chances of academic success. My teaching programme incorporates the high-class PAT (pre-interview test) and interview training I received at my school, Eton College; 5 out of 6 students in my cohort received offers for Engineering at Oxbridge, and I hope to extend this proven track record of success. Ultimately, I believe that every individual's educational needs are unique, and this is reflected in my tutoring style, which is focused on meeting the specific demands of each client.

  • Max

    Tutor
    University of Oxford - Engineering

Hi, I'm Max, and I've recently graduated with Distinction as a Master of Engineering from Cambridge University. I have performed at the very highest level throughout my academic career. This culminated in being recognised as the best mechanical engineering student to graduate from Cambridge University in 2023. I know what it takes to achieve top grades at any level. That aside, I'm generally laid back, and have a wide range of hobbies. I was a music scholar at Westminster School, and played football for Cambridge. I take an interest in everything from history and politics, to the latest football transfer gossip. I’ve been tutoring for over 5 years now, and Oxbridge admissions are my real specialty. My teaching style is direct, and engaging. My students enjoy transforming their fundamental understanding of key concepts, alongside learning the tips and tricks needed to succeed at interview and exam. I can’t wait to meet you, and get started.

  • Finlay

    Tutor
    University of Oxford - Engineering

Hi, my name is Finlay Drummond and I am a 4th year Engineering Science student at Exeter College, Oxford. In the past I have helped students through both the Cambridge and Oxford Engineering application processes (including personal statement, entrance exam and interview) as a tutor for The Clydeside Project, an access initiative for Scottish state-school pupils. Due to the disconnect between the Scottish and English university systems, and the resulting knowledge gap, I am experienced in helping students build their Oxbridge application from scratch and in teaching new material for the entrance tests and interviews. I have also tutored A-level and Scottish Higher students in Physics and Mathematics, both teaching new content and reinforcing concepts towards A* level. I am incredibly excited to share my passion for the sciences as a member of the OTC’s fantastic tutoring team, and I look forward to meeting you soon.

  • Nikhil

    Tutor
    University of Oxford - Engineering

Hi, I'm Nikhil and I am a 2nd year Engineering student at the University of Oxford. I have a comprehensive knowledge of both the Cambridge and Oxford admissions systems, having successfully gone through the latter. I achieved 4 A*s at A-Level so I know what it takes to achieve the results necessary to secure a place at a top university. After experiencing the tutorial system for an entire year I know what a student needs to be equipped with to be able to thrive at a place like Oxford. In my tutoring style I like to relate a new concept to a student by using analogies to something they may understand more intuitively, such as explaining electrical circuits with water flow. Outside of my degree, I enjoy rowing (something I picked up while in Oxford) as well as playing the guitar. I am excited to help students achieve their goals and go on to succeed in many different ways!

  • Aishani

    Tutor

Hi, I'm Aishani and I'm a second year undergraduate student studying Engineering Science at St Johns College, Oxford. I have been tutoring for over three years both in person and online and have experience with students aged 5-18. I have helped my students to improve greatly and achieve top grades at GCSE and A Level and have experience with Personal Statement, Entrance Exam and Interview Preparation specifically for Oxbridge and Imperial. I am passionate about encouraging more students into STEM degrees and would love to help students learn more and gain a better understanding of topics so they can achieve their potential.

  • Matt

    Tutor
    University of Cambridge - Engineering

Hi everyone, I’m Matt! I’m currently studying Engineering at Gonville and Caius college, Cambridge. Prior to this, I achieved 3 A*s and 1 A at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Geography. The University of Cambridge Engineering course is somewhat general in its preliminary years, and so I’m constantly being exposed to some of the very best academics across an incredibly broad range of Engineering disciplines. I am now excited to share my insights and passion for Engineering with the Oxbridge students of tomorrow. I have previously tutored students both for A-Level/GCSE exams as well as specific entrance exams such as the ENGAA (University of Cambridge) and PAT (University of Oxford), supporting my tutees on their journey to securing a place at Oxbridge. Outside of academia I row for the university boat club in training for the Boat Races. I look forward to working with all of you soon!

  • Ralph

    Tutor
    University of Oxford - Engineering

Hi everyone! I’m Ralph and I’m super excited to be a tutor here at the OTC. I’m in my 4th year of Engineering at Oxford University, studying a range of areas but currently working on developing hypersonic wing tips for NASA. I’ve just received top marks for my 3rd year project where I was on a team that designed a new beam particle monitor for the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. I’m joining the London Stock Exchange after Oxford as a Tech and Cyber security coder. Whether it’s from Nobel Physicists at CERN or NASA scientists, the people that have taught me have instilled in me a love of learning that it is a delight to share with others. I find the different ways that people learn fascinating and through my experience teaching, whether Maths at a local school as an 18 year old, or A-level and Oxbridge entrance more recently, I thoroughly enjoy finding the best solution for each individual student that not only maximises their potential, but fosters a love for their subjects that lasts for years to come.
