Max
Tutor
University of Cambridge - EconomicsHi everyone, my name is Max and I am currently reading for an MPhil in Finance & Economics at the University of Cambridge, having graduated with an undergraduate degree in Economics last year (BA with Honours, ‘22). Prior to studying at Cambridge, I achieved 3 A*s at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, and Economics. I am an experienced and engaging tutor with a wide range of experience from GCSE Maths tuition, right the way up to Oxbridge admissions for Economics at Cambridge, and Economics & Management at Oxford. Furthermore, this year I have taken on the responsibility of teaching undergraduate students at the University of Cambridge in supervisions, so I know exactly what it takes both to receive a place at Oxbridge, and thrive once there. I am super excited to be a part of The OTC Team, and can’t wait to help you to achieve your academic goals!

Matthew
Tutor
University of Oxford - Economics and ManagementHi everyone! I’m Matthew and I recently completed my studies in Economics and Management at the University of Oxford in June 2023, achieving First Class Honours. During my time at Oxford, I was awarded an academic scholarship to recognise exceptional academic performance. I have educational exposure from a broad range of perspectives. While at Oxford I founded a social mobility education start-up that helped pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing high-quality academic enrichment and career support. I was also a counsellor on leading business school INSEAD’s summer programme, where I was responsible for the education, engagement, and well-being of students aged 15-19 from over 25 countries. I also gained direct tuition experience as a maths tutor at my secondary school. I believe my academic background, passion for education, and strong communication skills mean I am a highly effective tutor. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you through your own Oxbridge journey!

James
Tutor
University of Oxford - Philosophy, Politics and EconomicsHi everyone! My name is James and I’m a PPE graduate from the University of Oxford. Prior to university, I achieved straight A*s in Maths, Economics and Spanish at A-level. I have extensive tutoring experience, both in University Admissions and A-Levels. From my past experience I have learned the importance of going at the pace of the student, and working to build their self-confidence, which is vital to both their enjoyment and success in the subject. I understand personally how difficult the Oxbridge application process can be, having taken two attempts to get into Oxford myself, and I am keen to help others to achieve their goal of studying at Oxbridge. I believe that my previous tutoring experience combined with my own academic journey to studying at Oxford, makes me uniquely placed to support students on their educational journey.

Prior to university, I achieved 4A*s at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, Economics, and Chemistry, as well as an A* in the Extended Project. Electra
Tutor
University of Oxford - Economics & ManagementHi everyone! My name is Electra and I am a finalist reading Economics and Management at Exeter College, Oxford. As someone who attended a non-feeder school, with few of my peers attending Oxbridge, I had very limited support from my teachers when applying to Oxford. Compared to the amazing resources some other students received, I felt a little overwhelmed navigating this complex, and sometimes daunting process. I was fortunate enough to receive mentorship from my elder brother who had been through the same admissions process, and provided me with invaluable insight, particularly regarding the interview stage of the application timeline. My successful admission gave me access to an incredible education and bank of resources that helped me to achieve my academic goals, and I am passionate about giving the students of tomorrow this same chance to succeed. I am an experienced, engaging, and dedicated tutor, with over 3 years of experience. I can’t wait to meet you, and help you to secure that offer!

With my extensive tutoring experience, I will be able to guide you from choosing your college to writing the TMUA and, hopefully, an interview! Applying to Cambridge can be confusing and is certainly daunting, with little to no guidance on how to prepare for interviews and assessments. I will breakdown the process into a step-by-step plan which we will go through together to help you feel ready and prepared for the real thing! Friendly, flexible and passionate about Economics, I will work around you, ensuring that lessons provide you maximum benefit and are at your convenience.

Felix
Tutor
University of Oxford - History and EconomicsHi, my name is Felix and I’m a supportive tutor who is passionate about expanding access to high quality education. I recently graduated from Oxford with a First Class Degree in History and Economics (2021), ranking third in my subject. I was also awarded an academic Scholarship by Brasenose College for outstanding performance in first year exams (2019-2021). I am now reading for an MSt in Modern European History at Linacre College Oxford. I’m passionate about expanding access to the high quality of education I received during my time at university and school. With 4 A*s at A-Level (Mathematics, History, Economics and Geography) and 11 A*s at GCSE, I’m well-placed to help students whatever educational stage they have reached. I also have experience coaching students in Model United Nations, so I can help improve key academic skills including formulating coherent arguments, finding relevant evidence, and expressing yourself cogently in writing or at interview.

Zayaan
Tutor
University of Cambridge - Land EconomyHi everyone, I’m Zayaan! I’m a second-year student studying Land Economy (Economics, Law, and Environment) at Cambridge and completed my first year with first-class honours, ranking 10th in my cohort. I am originally from Dubai and scored 44 out of 45 in the IBDP, taking higher Maths, Economics, and Geography. I’ve had a couple of years of tutoring experience and have realised that successful tutoring commands one fundamental value: empathy. I can place myself in your shoes when setting deadlines and put myself in an unbiased assessor’s shoes when reviewing your work. Having been through the Oxbridge process myself, I know how overwhelming it can be, especially when sometimes the people around you might not follow similar timelines. I can assure you that you will always have an understanding, flexible, and passionate companion and mentor working with me. I am also excited to answer questions about Land Economy! Contrary to the image the name creates, Land Economy is extensive, and I would love to help students navigate and consider all their options before making a choice. I look forward to working together!

Jessica
Tutor
University of Oxford - Philosophy, Politics and EconomicsHi, I’m Jessica! I studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Mansfield College, Oxford and graduated with a high 2:1 in 2021. Before this I achieved straight As at A level studying History, Maths and Spanish. Since graduating I have worked online as a tutor, specialising in admissions; I have over 200 hours of experience supporting students in their applications. During my time as an admissions tutor, I have built up a bank of resources and knowledge to support students through every stage of the admissions process from personal statement support to interview preparation. Through my experience as a mock interviewer, I have become acutely aware of where students tend to go wrong and what advice is necessary to remedy these mistakes. I can work with students individually through mock interviews and feedback, or in groups through advice sessions and interview workshops. My advice not only improves students' interview technique but also increases their confidence going into the interview so that they are in the best position possible when it comes to the selection process. With my help students are able to demonstrate their full potential to universities and go on to secure offers to the university of their dreams.

Will
Tutor
University of Oxford - Philosophy, Politics, & EconomicsHi everyone! My name is Will and I have recently graduated from Oxford with a First Class Honours degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. I studied at New College, where I was an academic scholar specialising in Economics and Politics, where I received the highest mark in my graduating cohort in my International Economics module. Prior to this, I attended a non-selective state school in special measures, so I know how daunting the application process can be first hand! I would be happy to help any student regardless of their educational stage -- from choosing the right course or college, to building the skills to score highly in the admissions process! I believe my own educational journey paired with my past successful tutoring experience will help me work with students to improve their grade, increase their confidence, or to secure a place at Oxbridge!
